Read the New Testament in 2025

by Derek Leave a Comment

Dear Reader,

I invite you to join me for a journey through the New Testament in 2025.

We’ll be using the plan below, which is based off the 5x5x5 Navigators plan.

If you’ve never read the New Testament through or are new to the Bible in general, this plan is an easy way to jump into the story.

A few things I like about this plan:

  1. The plan is short and simple, which allows for meditative reading. You need to only read one chapter a day, five days a week. On the weekend, you can catch up on any missed readings, explore other parts of the Bible, or just take a break and enjoy going to church and hearing the scriptures there.
  2. This plan takes a book at a time, which allows you to easily use your own Bible. In contrast, the One Year Bible, which I have enjoyed over the years, requires a special Bible because the readings spread across four books and are often fragmentary.
  3. This plan does not go through the New Testament in canonical order. That is, it does not, for example, go Matthew, Mark, Luke and then John. Instead, it spreads out the gospels so you can read a gospel once a quarter. So the plan proceeds through a book in time, and get it provides some welcomed variety. I think this is a happy median.

If you’re interested in joining the journey, download the schedule below. And check back here for updates. I hope to post occasionally on the passages throughout the year, and I would love to hear your thoughts as well.

Blessings!
