God’s Love Will Find You

by Derek Leave a Comment

Springtime brings weeds and vines as much as it bring leaves and flowers. One look at the woods behind my house confirms that. The Creation around us is not only blossoming with growth but bursting forth with overgrowth. Lawns need mowing. Beds need weeding. Hedges need trimming. It can really feel like a jungle out there.

Our own lives have similar seasons of growth and overgrowth. We sometimes find ourselves overwhelmed, overrun, and choked out. Stress, illness, or the loss of a job can turn a garden life into a jungle nightmare. And as we fumble around in the thicket, we wonder if we’ll ever find our way back out.

But there is good news.

While there is no guarantee that we will find our way out, there is a guarantee Someone will find us, no matter what. No matter what pops up, we’ll be okay. Be it a gargantuan weed in your yard, or a great obstacle in your life…it doesn’t matter. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. No snag, no thorn, no thicket “nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
