Heaven-High Love

by Derek Leave a Comment

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him…” (Psalm 103:11, ESV)

Unfathomable love.

How high are the heavens above the earth?

It’s hard to say.

We cannot yet reach, with even our latest instruments, the farthest parts of the universe.

Incomprehensible love.

Interestingly, “the heavens” even seem to be expanding, according to modern scientists. So, the heavens are actually getting higher above the earth.

This amount of love is difficult to understand and believe.

To think that the ocean of God’s love is as vast as this universe is astounding.

To know that the ratio of the universe to me is approaching the ratio of God’s love to me boggles the mind.

But this is the truth: As high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him.

Amen.
